Monty helps with customer calls and everyday work. You remain in control of your business information and settings, and responsible for reviewing important AI outputs. Your purchase screen sets out any subscription price and included usage.

Who provides Monty

Monty is provided by Tim Judge. Contact support@askmonty.co.uk for support or questions about these terms.

These terms cover your use of the Monty service. By creating an account or using Monty, you agree to them. If you act for a business, you must have authority to agree on its behalf. The privacy policy explains how personal information is handled; it is not a substitute for the separate permissions requested in the app.

What the service does

Monty provides an AI receptionist and tools for managing customer conversations, business knowledge, follow-ups and appointments. The features available to you depend on your plan, configuration, connected services and permissions.

You control the business information, answering preferences, voice, greeting, transfer destinations and booking settings you provide. Keep them accurate and up to date. AI may misunderstand a caller or produce an inaccurate answer. Review important summaries, proposed knowledge, appointments and actions before relying on them.

Monty is not an emergency service. Do not rely on it for emergency response or as the sole means of handling urgent or safety-critical matters. Provide customers with an appropriate alternative contact route.

Your account and team

Provide accurate account and contact information, protect your login credentials and phone PIN, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for the activity you authorise through your account.

Business owners decide who can join the workspace and what access they receive. Invite only authorised people and remove access when it is no longer needed. Team access is subject to the plan’s current limits. An owner’s deletion of the business account removes the shared workspace; a team member’s deletion of their own login does not remove the business’s records.

Plans, usage and payments

Before a purchase, the purchase screen shows the subscription, billing period, price, included usage and any introductory offer. Those purchase details apply to your subscription. Charges and offers may differ by country and purchase method; do not rely on an indicative price shown elsewhere in place of the purchase confirmation.

Recurring subscriptions renew for the stated billing period unless cancelled through the provider that bills you. Cancelling stops future renewal; access normally continues until the end of the paid period, unless a refund or other change ends the entitlement earlier. Any cancellation or refund rights required by applicable law continue to apply.

Usage allowances and any limits are shown in the app. A long text message, or one using certain characters, may count as more than one SMS segment. Any additional charge requires the applicable purchase or billing authorisation; store subscriptions do not automatically purchase paid AI-minute overage when the included allowance is used. Your telephone provider may charge for calls or call forwarding.

Purchases through Apple

If you subscribe through Apple, payment is charged to your Apple Account through the App Store. The Apple purchase sheet shows the actual price, duration and any trial or offer. Eligible trials convert to the stated paid subscription unless cancelled in time. Apple determines introductory-offer eligibility.

Manage or cancel an Apple subscription in your device’s Apple Account subscription settings. To avoid the next renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the current subscription or trial period ends. Deleting the app or your Monty account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Refund requests for Apple purchases are handled through Apple, subject to applicable law.

Restore purchases while signed in to the Monty business linked to the subscription. The business subscription does not enable Apple Family Sharing. Apple is not the provider of the Monty service or responsible for its customer support.

These terms govern the Monty service. The licence to use the iOS app is governed by Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement unless a separate custom licence is shown for Monty on the App Store. Apple’s licence does not replace these service terms.

Your content and responsible use

You retain your rights to the business content you provide. You authorise us and the relevant service providers to use that content only as needed to provide, protect and support the features you enable, as described in the privacy policy and any applicable data-processing agreement.

You must have authority to provide the business and customer information you submit. Give callers and message recipients the required notices, establish an appropriate lawful basis and obtain any permission required for recording, transcription, AI processing, messages or automated calls. The account holder’s AI-sharing permission does not replace a caller’s rights or your obligations to them.

Do not use Monty for unlawful activity, fraud, harassment, impersonation, unauthorised surveillance or unsolicited communications without the required permission. Honour requests not to be contacted again. Do not attempt to bypass access controls, interfere with the service or access someone else’s records.

Do not provide passwords, full payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive personal information in calls, messages, prompts or uploaded documents. Review proposed knowledge before approving it for use in customer calls.

Privacy and connected services

Our privacy policy describes the data we handle, the suppliers involved, retention, deletion and your choices. Optional AI sharing and product analytics have separate controls. Declining or withdrawing those permissions affects the corresponding features, not your ability to manage your account manually.

Phone networks, OpenAI, calendar providers, payment providers and other connected services have their own terms, availability and data practices. Only connect accounts you are authorised to use. Disconnecting an integration does not automatically remove information already held by that provider or events already created in an external calendar.

Read the Monty privacy policy.

Availability and changes to the service

We aim to keep Monty available and functioning as described, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Phone-number activation, network coverage, maintenance and third-party availability can affect calls and other features. A phone number is not ready for use until the relevant activation and setup steps have completed.

We may update the service to improve it, maintain compatibility or address security and legal requirements. We will give notice of material changes that affect your paid service or these terms where required by law. Changes will not remove statutory rights or retrospectively change a completed purchase.

Beta features may change or be withdrawn. TestFlight and sandbox purchase tests are for testing; Apple sandbox purchases do not incur purchase charges. Keep test data separate from information you rely on to run your business.

Ending your use of Monty

You can stop using Monty and initiate account deletion in Account & security in the app. Export any information you need before deletion. Cancel an Apple or Google subscription through the relevant store to stop renewal; web subscriptions are cancelled as part of account deletion.

Remove carrier call forwarding before a Monty number is deactivated so callers are not sent to an inactive line. Deleting Monty does not delete events already held in external calendars or records independently held by other providers.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address a security threat, unlawful use or a material breach of these terms. Where appropriate and lawful, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve it. Contact us if you believe a restriction is mistaken.

Your legal rights and resolving concerns

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you remain in place.

If something goes wrong, contact support@askmonty.co.uk with enough information for us to investigate, without including passwords or payment-card details. We will work with you to resolve the concern. Nothing in these terms prevents you from using a regulator, court or other dispute route available under applicable law.

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. We will publish material updates to these terms with a revised effective date and provide any notice required by law.
